Bonaire

The beautiful island of Bonaire has much to offer for nature lovers on land and underwater. There is also plenty of land based activiites.

Bonaire has a large diversity of animals and plant life. Tropical birds like parrots, parakeets, pelicans and flamingos can be found almost everywhere on the island. Wild donkeys and goats roam the kunuku (countryside) while osprey scan the Caribbean sea for fish. Don't be suprised to find a four foot iguana or large land crab in your garden.

Bonaire is one of the best scuba diving locations in the Caribbean. Miles of shore line make it easy to dive from without the need for a boat is simply unique. The reef is never futher away than a few feet making Bonaire the shore diving capital of the Caribbean. Not only is the ease of diving impressive, but the reefs with all its life is spectacular. The whole underwater world surrounding Bonaire is protected by the Bonaire Marine Park. Spear fishing and anchoring is prohibited and so is having contact with the reef.

In the past years more land activities have developed on Bonaire. To metion a few, there is land sailing, cave tours, kite surfing, aerial sight seeing, boat rentals for water skiing and wake boarding, quad tours, mountain biking, mangrove kayaking, surfing, paint ball, horse back riding, and much more.

All combined together, Bonaire now has something to offer everyone.
